Our title quote this year is the last line from Dante’s Inferno. As Dante and Virgil depart from Hell they declare:
“AND THEN WE WALKED OUTSIDE AND SAW THE STARS AGAIN.”
As we put 2020 behind us and began to plan Cheers for Charity 2021, we could relate to Dante and Virgil. It was a tumultuous year that affected everyone and brought heartbreaking loss to some. Our world may have forever changed as we were forced to protect the wellbeing of not only ourselves and our neighbors, but people that we didn’t even know. We were also asked to consider social injustices that we would rather not think about. Despite all this, we endured. Stronger and grateful. As we look toward the future with optimism and hope, we also remember that “to whom much is given, much is expected.” Cheers for Charity 2021 will be a celebration of our survival and a commitment to help those less fortunate. We missed you last year but can’t wait to see you again. Please join us on April 10th as we celebrate under the stars and toast to a Starry Starry Night.
