As the leaves begin to show their fall colors, a special season begins that yields one of the most sought-after ingredients in the world of gastronomy. Tuber magnatum, or White Truffles, begin to grow in the shallow soils beneath oaks, hazelnut and chestnut trees. Hunted with special dogs, this spongy tuber boasts pleasantly pungent aromas that give way to deep, earthy flavors from its cream-colored center. Served over pastas, risotto, eggs and meat, this ultimate delicacy delivers a culinary experience like nothing else. Paired with the incredible Barolo wines from this same region, it’s a combination that guarantees a magical food fantasy. Surrounded by rolling hills covered with vines and ancient hilltop villages, your meals become dreams as you soak in every taste, sip, and view.

There is nothing like a white truffle that is only a few hours old being shaved over a bowl of fresh pasta. Heavenly.

This Italian adventure will begin at the world-famous Alba White Truffle Festival, a mind-blowing experience of everything Truffle! After smelling and tasting your way through the countless artisans and vendors offering every delicacy imaginable made with truffles, we will head to our first accommodations in a 15th century castle. High atop a hill overlooking miles of vineyards and a backdrop of the Alps, your fantasy continues. Over the next three days, you will enjoy the best Italy has to offer: the best food, the best wines, and experiences that will last a lifetime.

After leaving the castle, we will move to the nearby Coltivare in the Brandini Winery. Your room will overlook the beautiful Nebbiolo vineyards of the Langhe Region as we settle in our new home for the next two days. This spectacular property is owned by Giovanna Bagnasco-Mondavi and her sister Serena, who in addition to providing beautiful accommodations and food, make great wine as well!

Our dear friends, Giovanna and Carlo Mondavi will help us curate the ultimate visit to this area with super exclusive winery visits, insider restaurant reservations and even a truffle hunt! And by the way, it will be harvest season in Piemonte, the most magical time of year. As a final crescendo to our truffle extravaganza, we will have a special lunch at 3 star Piazza Duomo (Ron’s favorite restaurant in the world!) After lunch, we will head back to Milan.
